Here is a thought experiment. You are in the front passenger seat of a self-driving car. And two boys, chasing their ball, abruptly jumponto the road.
자, 자율주행차 알고리즘은 천둥의 속도로 계산합니다. 두 소년을 피하는 유일한 방법은 반대 차선에서 핸들을 꺾는 것이다.

실제로 2015년에 실시된 연구에서 이런 통계가 있었습니다. 자율주행차가 몇몇 보행자를 치려면 어떻게 해야 할까.

응답자 대부분은 주인이 죽는 대가를 치르더라도 보행자를 구해야 한다고 대답했습니다. 하지만 두 번째 질문에서 실제로 더 큰 선을 위해 주인을 희생하도록 프로그래밍된 차를 구입할 것이냐는 질문에는 대부분 No라고 대답했다는 것입니다.
